The design of this beautiful rose pendant, symbolic of love, is attributed to Edward Spencer.
The Tudor rose is the traditional floral heraldic emblem of England which originates from the Tudor dynasty.
This genuine laboratory ruby has the same chemical composition, crystal structure, optical & physical properties as a mined ruby & has the same Mohs hardness of 9. They were first made in Switzerland in 1880 & would have cost the same as a natural ruby & were chosen for their purity & colour.
Today a mined ruby of this quality would cost approximately 90,000 GBP.
