Arts & Crafts Ring in silver & gold. This genuine laboratory ruby has the same chemical composition, crystal structure, optical & physical properties as a mined ruby & has the same Mohs hardness of 9. They were first made in Switzerland in 1880 & would have cost the same as a natural ruby & were chosen for their purity & colour.
