The pendant is stamped `FM' (Ferdinand Morawe) but the contemporary literature confirms
Olbrich's authorship several times.
Joseph Maria Olbrich was a founder member of the Vienna Secession in 1897. In 1899, at the invitation of the Grand Duke of Hesse, Olbrich set up the Artists' colony at Darmstadt, thereby intermingling the styles of Austria & Germany.
Documented Olbrich jewels are extremely rare,
although several were known to exist.
